floating away

Snaps from a day at Amphawa floating market with my friend Scott. A short van ride from Bangkok, I really only wanted to go here because of the temple nearby. A banyan tree has grown around it, encasing it in a thick, entangled maze of tree trunk and leaves. Absolutely gorgeous.

These little cups are full of numbered sticks, and you are meant to gently shake them until one stick falls out, and then you retrieve a paper with that number (your fortune). The first time I went at it, I shook and shook and nothing was happening so I shook a bit harder…and launched the entire cup all over the ground. I finally got it right, but when I went to find out my fortune, my number’s papers were all gone. OH, UNIVERSE.

I could not live without these H&M shorts here in Thailand. I have them in multiple colors…and it’s like wearing pajamas outside!
