It’s hard to be so far away from family. While I have consistently Skyped with my parents every Sunday for nearly three years, it’s just not the same as being able to pop over to the house I grew up in, plop down on our giant comfy sofa and indulge in one of my mama’s baking creations. And hugs. Man. I am a grown woman (and not much of a hugger) but some days I feel like a hug from one of them would make everything alright. When I finally convinced my dad to take his first oversea plane ride, I was thrilled to be able to show my parents my adopted home. Unfortunately, we had to skip Chiang Mai, but we did get some time on Koh Phi Phi and in Khao Yai. I know they still question my choice to live in Bangkok, of all places; but I think they also understand more why I have chosen to wander. And I love them all the more for it.
Great photos!
Great photos, Meg. And great memories.
